Dr. Péter Szabó, born in 1973 in Hungary, joined Sonnenberg Wealth Management AG as a Partner in April 2021.
Since 2018, he was heading the Zurich Branch of the S.P. Hinduja Banque Privée. Péter was responsible for managing the staff members based in Zurich, representing the Bank in the financial center of Eastern Switzerland as well as providing custom tailored private banking services for an internationally diversified clientele.
From 2012 till 2018, Péter worked for the family owned Cornèr Banca SA in Zurich heading the CEE, Russia and Turkey Desk of the institution. He also covered own HNWI clients and families from Eastern Europe as well as CIS countries.
From 2009 till 2012, Péter was Senior Client Relationship Manager at the Hungarian Desk of UBS AG in Zurich where he took care of a significant book of HNWI clients. In the last year of his time with the bank, he was Team Leader of the Hungarian Desk of UBS Wealth Management.
In 2006, Péter decided to move to Switzerland from his country of origin, Hungary. He accepted the position as Senior Client Relationship Manager at Swiss Private Banking part of the French Société Générale Group called SG Private Banking (Switzerland) Ltd. His main tasks were business development, client acquisitions and CRM.
Péter started his Private Banking career at the Hungarian subsidiary of the Austrian Raiffeisen Group in 2002. After spending 3 years in his role as Client Relationship Manager, he accepted a job offer as Head of Private Banking and Asset Management Department at Takarékbank Ltd. (Budapest, Hungary) where his main mission was to create the foundations of the new Private Banking Unit as well as merge it with the existing Asset Management Unit.
After finishing his German-Hungarian bilingual high school in Hungary in 1993, Péter studied Law at the University of Pécs (Hungary) and received his doctor degree in Law Sciences in 1999. He absolved postgraduate bilingual French-Hungarian MBA studies at the Economic Faculty of the Technical University in Budapest (Hungary) and at the University Jean Moulin de Lyon III (France) where he received MBA as well as DESS degrees in 2002.
Péter is fluent in Hungarian, German, English and French.
